Language, Ecology and Society

Welcome to the homepage of Language, Ecology and Society - a dialectical approach, a linguistics monograph published by Continuum publishers, London.

This book, now available as paperback, is the first monograph to present the theoretical framework of Dialectical Linguistics which is closely related to the linguistic field of ecolinguistics.

The theory was initially developed by Jørgen Christian Bang and Jørgen Døør, and the monograph is based on thoroughly revised papers from within the last three decades.

Today, the theory has found a larger audience with practitioners within many fields (ecolinguistics, literary studies, media studies, business communication, dialogue analysis, etc.).

This website is an interactive resource which functions as a companion for the book. Use the left menu to navigate the site, and feel free to use from - and contribute to - the ressources on this page.
